How is this suddenly a thing in 2021? What the fuck happened and how was it covered up till now? I realize the idea of giving a shit about indigenous people is a very new concept in the grand scheme of things, but holy shit. 750 dead children at one school.

This is Canada's dark history. Which is why I laugh when dummies like Michael Moore try to paint us as happy go lucky Canucks up here. This is the part of history that our school system conveniently glosses over.

Reading the anecdotes from survivors on Reddit it sounds like they were intentionally killed through neglect and the 'schools' were more like detention centers

The truly awful thing is, these are the numbers (over 900) from only 2 residential schools so far. I don't want to think about what the numbers are going to look like once they start looking into more schools.
