Playing through Zero Mission r/n
(just beat OG Metroid & Metroid II)

Im thinking Zero might be the best Troid for beginners....

haha. I actually meant to load up Super Metroid, but got Zero by mistake and I am having a TON of fun with it. The game gives you clear objectives to reach on the map, similar to Prime, and has at least a little more in the way of dedicated storytelling/cutscenes when you reach new environments.

It's the best SNES game IMO.

Super is my favorite.

(Im about to take out Mother Brain in Zero Mission! Woot!! That wasnt so bad. Looks like theres a few E-Tanks & Super Missiles I didnt get. Thats okay. My run time is solid! Lets do this!!!!)

While super is extremely overrated its still very good and set the ground work for many better games.

At Draygon

Is Draygon supposed to be King of the underwater Metroid (which they never explained at all)? The false spikes leading into his boss room heavily resemble the entrance into Queen Metroids lair in M2. & I wonder if this was originally planned to be the final boss (and Space Jump wouldnt work underwater) ~ Before they went ahead & did Mother Brain pt.2 (who is a far less difficult encounter btw)

That would explain why the mini-Draygon never play much of a role.

It would also explain why the Serpent boss before Draygon feels so shoehorned in.

Also, lets face it..... This boss has an obscene grab attack.

Im guessing the original idea was that the Space Pirate ship crashed.........

and they all got taken by the mutant ghost cyborg descendants of the Metroid (basically, Alien Resurrection, which came out around the same time)

and that plot got reused for Fusion

Im guessing the Escape after Draygon would have led into getting Ambushed by Ridley at your landing zone, yes?

Something to do with Phantoon & Mother Brain

Phantoon may have been the original boss before the hypothetical Ridley ambush

So, you would go get Draygon - then Phantoon - then get attacked by Ridley, mirroring the intro somewhat

Im guessing they originally planned something more with respawning enemies (and bosses)

So, like, the Chozo statues would attack you until you killed Mother Brain monster, and so on

There would be mini-Kraid until you killed Kraid, etc

aaaaand thats why the monster doors exist

Im guessing Draygon originally unlocked Screw Attack?

Fusion then zero mission then...AM2R.
But like prime 1 and 2 before them ofc.
