Tbf, that's not a good defense. Most people learn racism from their parents. If we don't know your parents, it doesn't matter what their opinion is. All we know is they're from a different time.

Wouldn't really be racism, more like genderism if anything. And I don't mean they wouldn't care either which way, just that it isn't as big an issue to most Latinos, at least not how prevalent it seems to be online.

True. I just used racism as a catch all for some reason lol. But yeah, I never heard any one of my Mexican family members bring it up. But they're not really politically correct or up on things either.

I've never heard a latin person refer to themselves as "latinx" it's everybody that's not Latin trying to push it.

Every single latino academic I know, born outside the US and native speakers of Spanish, use it.
