A few times. It's really not very hard as far as CV games go, and it's super short, but it's a great game nonetheless.

Haven't beat any of those old school Castlevania games. I like them, but I suck at them.

Yes. It's actually one of the easier ones imo. I think about trying to beat SotN but restricted to loading only a certain number of times as if it were lives in Castlevania 1 and it's like basically impossible unless you spend hours practicing the game and can basically Speedrun it.

Yes. It's the only one so far that I've played.

I did myself a disservice in dismissing it a few years ago when I only played the first level. Once it gets to the second level, things get interesting and never really let up.

I like SQ too. I played it a few months ago and beat it for the first time. I had to use a guide, but it was still an enjoyable experience. I can appreciate what they were going for.

simon's quest was the first game i ever beat. i was spoiled on bloody tears and the sick bass line from the town theme.

also yes to the poll. castlevania 1 wasn't that bad -- 3 was a lot harder.

The only CV game I've ever played was Circle of the Moon on GBA. I don't even recall where I got the game but I did end up enjoying it quite a bit. I just got SotN which I guess is the gold standard but haven't started it yet. I've got a long airplane ride coming up though.

circle of the moon was great, it's just a shame the gba was dark as hell because you basically could only play it in direct sunlight at high noon

Yes. The very original. Before the current handholding set in. My teen self and preteen younger brother did it in shifts.

A running gag is while one whacked away, the other would shout "one more hit" while watching the bar - and the player would die. I miss those days.

Wrong about 30 times before getting it right.

In that regard, reminds me of Souls games. Can't get my brother to try them though. Souls brought me back to gaming after about 12 years.

The challenge is the thing.

Yes, I beat all of the games in the Anniversary Collection on PS4.

Its amazing how a game from that long ago is still so good. Death and Dracula were a pain but rewarding to best.

Same. I was only able to beat him as an adult. Death is impossible for me unless I have holy water, and it I have it, hes simple. Dracula is a pain for me to beat, regardless of the items I have. Thank god for unlimited continues.
