How many years would you be satisfied with?

Minnesota Attorney General, Keith Ellison is urging again to the judge to NOT GO HEAVY on the sentence for Derek Chauvin, the former police officer charged with the murder of George Floyd as the sentencing will be known this Friday.

He said he hopes the judge won't go light or heavy because it's not about "revenge" but justice for and acknowledgement of what chauvin did was wrong.

The 45 y/o is facing 40 years in the slammer after being convicted on all 3 counts but Ellison says although he is feeling relieved and gratitude on the verdict, he does not want to see Chauvin spend that many years in prison.

He said "I spent 16 years as a criminal defense lawyer. So, i will admit, i felt a little bad for the defendant. I think he deserved to be convicted. But he's a human being. I'm not in any way wavering from my responsibility. But i hope we never forget the people who are defendants in our criminal justice system, that they're human beings. They're people. I mean, George Floyd was a human being. And so i'm not going to ever forget that everybody in this process is a person"

What a cuck. This is why people hate defense attorneys.

No, Chauvin does not deserve sympathy in any fucking capacity whatsoever. Especially when you consider his history as an absolute sociopath.

I don't get how anyone can support Chauvin when I heard we should have no sympathy for violent criminals who make poor life decisions.

Apparently there's a legit graph Minnesota goes by. They don't pull a number out of the air. The news said that because he has no priors that he's probably looking at 15 years.

Well that is fucking bullshit if true. People are probably going to riot if he gets less than Life

He may officially have no priors but he has a history of brutality in his cop career. He just never got called out on it till now

He should get a harsh sentence because he did a obscene abuse of power and the publics trust and fucking murdered a guy on camera in front of a crowd of witnesses

I don't really get what this guy means to say. I believe that Chauvin should get no more or less than what comes from his charges, at least.

edit: Although I do believe police, and in general any sort of law and military enforcement, should be punished harder from breaking what should be a higher standard.
