Diablo 2 easy. Over the years I lost or scratched the discs up so I kept buying it again. Now I finally bought it a few years ago digitally so hopefully that will be the last time. Not counting the remake, because that's another buy.

Ive gotten FF7/8/9 multiple times due to disc read errors. If one disc broke, you had to buy the entire game again. I also got them on Vita.
I know I have some of the Trails of Cold Steel games on Vita, PS3, and Computer, but I dont think Ill re purchase them again on Switch. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I can't recall ever getting any game on more than 2 versions. I've done that with Diablo 3, Skyrim and GTA5. I got Pokemon Blue and Yellow but I don't know if that counts for this.

Final Fantasy X. Own (or owned, in one case) on PS2, PS3, PS4, Vita and PC.
The only other game I've owned more than two copies of is Abe's Exoddus, and I've only owned one copy of that at a time. Lost Disc 1 of my first copy way back in the day so got a second; and then much later, bought the PC version on Steam. (EDIT: Though to be clear - if a game is cross-buy, I'm only counting it once; I'm only counting ports if they have to be bought seperately.) --- The word "Trumble" is not allowed in a signature. ... A bunch of them are tied. I have Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI for both SNES and PS1. MGS and Twin Snakes, Persona 3 and FES, Persona 4 and Golden, Devil Survivor and Overclocked, Devil Survivor 2 and Record Breaker, Strange Journey and Redux. Good thing I hated Nocturne or I'd probably have the remaster too.

Nothing super recent that I can think of. Though back in the day I would buy a game like Mortal Kombat 2, for example, for both Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo, then again years later when it was remastered for PS3. So I guess that's at least three times right there.

FF4/6 and Chrono Trigger. I have the SNES versions and the PS1 versions of them. FF6 was more because it came with FF5 though, and CT because it came with FF4 Hardtype. At the time, the PS1 port was the only way to (legally) play either of those in English.

I bought Fire Pro Wrestling Returns and GTAV on two different platforms. FPR wins out though because I actually bought it 3 times total, replacing my original PS2 disc after 3 years.
