As a non-white, non-american when I think of "white culture" I think of Mozart, Beethoven, 1700s, 1800s, waltz that type of stuff. People dressed in hats and suits.

I always took that as a sort of compliment. It's basically demonstrating that white culture is so ubiquitous and dominant that you no longer notice it.
Kinda like how Kleenex must feel about everyone just calling every tissue paper "Kleenex".
