I know this isn't a serious topic, but if someone on a dating site has an IG or snap, is it fair game to try to (tactfully) hit them up there? Or no? It's definitely creepy if you're getting contacted through a channel you didn't disclose but if you only wanted certain people to contact you then shouldn't you only give stuff out to matches?
I haven't contacted anyone I didn't match with personally, to be clear. But with how hard it is to match and how often I see contact info I wonder if that would be a better way to "shoot my shot" as the kids say Edit: It probably doesn't help that much anyway, the people you're already "competing" with (for lack of a better word, though I hate to treat relationships as a competition) can see that info too ... If you found their SM username and it wasn't posted in their profile you're basically stalking them. It's never a compliment. I wouldn't find someone's info that isn't listed, I'm just asking what the etiquette is. My guess would be if someone puts that info out there, they're probably okay getting a follow but don't want you to engage directly
