My guess is they're struggling to add in what they want without removing too much to make it all actually work. In terms of the map, there were large underwater areas cut. Like 80% of the game is just wandering around the environment, exploring new areas, trying to climb hills/mountains. Its understandable that people are worried that BotW 2 might have the same overworld, because then its basically 80% the same game as the first one. Im hoping Nintendo understands this and has done something to make an overworld thats new and exciting to explore.
