Every single island has one of these little altar things. I think the way it works is you fly to an island, go up to an altar, and you get a quest. Then completing the quest gives you whatever the equivalent of the Spirit Orb is. Also, the thing on his arm, I think that is the equivalent of the Sheikah Slate.

The series existed in Japan before Advance Wars, had Japan not like Famicom Wars, there would have been no Advance Wars.

The problem was the release date of 1, that got postponed in Japan because of 9/11.

dont forget that days of ruin didnt even come out in japan untill years later as an e shop only title
i think there is definitely merit to the japan hates advance wars (now) idea
