Did they literally not announce a single game?

I think the only new thing was Village DLC?

Oh my God it's like a completion to see who can be most awful. Microsoft and Ubisoft the only big devs that even vaguely tried and Ubi was pretty boring.

To be fair, I think they said beforehand that nothing new would be announced at the presentation.

That said it's still a gigantic waste of time if they literally only had three games to show. They could've consolidated their DLC announcements into Twitter updates or other presentations like Nintendo's.

I'll be fair and say that the effects of COVID are really showing. It's kind of clear that a lot of companies just didn't have anything ready to show this year.

Sadly it makes for a very uninteresting E3 experience.

Shit, Limited Run Games announced a whole plethora of physical releases that are a hundred times more appealing than what Capcom shat out at E3.

Yeah...we were warned and I was definitely prepared for this...but it still hurts when it actually happens. That's why I'm suddenly not having high hopes for Nintendo.

Lmao, right. I don't think it's even a brand new game, it's just never been localized until now. They didn't need to spend that much time on it.

E3 was in decline way before Covid, large developers just don't make as many games as they used to. You make a single game with as broad appeal as possible and then you milk that with microtransactions and DLC.

Smaller developers announced tons of games this year.

Even just coming out and saying "We don't have any trailers or even teasers to show you, but we are in fact making <insert new game of a series> so stay tuned for updates" and it would have been better than what we got.

Last years E3 was still before projects were being delayed. That's being felt now.

Things are often slow in the beginning of a new generation as well.

Also just to add I think people forget that companies like Capcom and Square very rarely have good shows at E3. They're usually announcing their big stuff with Playstation and Xbox.

We do get that. But then people complain every year when those games aren't seen again or that there's no gameplay. Xbox has done this quite a lot.

Really I don't think people really have settled on what they think E3 should be anymore.

I'm just so puzzled as to why they didn't reveal Oro and Akira's release date and the final secret DLC character for Street Fighter V. It would have been the perfect time to do so. What are they waiting for?

The games that would be coming out this fall would've been under development all last year, and covid is hitting peaks in Japan now.

if you think Capcom is bad.... just remember that Verizon got a block this year.... VERIZON.... the company that doesn't make video games, and is trying to push mobile gaming when mobile gaming on the level that they are looking at is at bare minimum 10 years away.

This is what I don't understand honestly. It's like they're afraid of not having their own event or something even though most third party publishers didn't have their own show. They just had presentations or demos on the showfloor. Just do that!

I know what mobile can look like. But I can't imagine those games would run for long periods of time. There isn't any airflow to cool the unit down, obviously isn't a graphics card due to size limitations, and battery life is probably a joke.

Was the Verizon stuff E3 or Keighley? I think it was E3 right?

I noticed the Capcom show was 'E3 exclusive' lol

I'm actually not sure what E3 themselves have actually organized or what their benefit is.

The phone I'm using now has all of that +16GB of RAM and it's playing Genshin Impact which is one of the most popular PS5 games. The fan is very silent as well and the controller is nice.

As for the cost? Well, sure the phone costs more than the console, but it's also a phone. A console is just a console. My phone plays top end games as well as being a thing that I just always have with me everywhere.
