ive never played ME3. i just started it since im playing through legendary edition.

but comparing ME2 to ME1 is huge. is me3 like that or is it more of the same

ME3 polished up the combat and customization, but 2 was a better experience overall. I enjoyed the Multiplayer aspect of 3 thoughliterally TONS of characters and weapons to unlock .

ME3 was great up until the last half an hour of the game. No story spoilers, but the news about the free DLC (from several years back) should tell you all you need to know about how the game was rushed and received badly.

ME3 has by far the best gameplay, especially on Insanity. The expanded biotic detonations and tech bursts system is great fun.

The ending is bad but everything leading up to it is good, and the whole "your choices don't matter!" thing is overstated, as the choices you made in ME1 and ME2 do actually contribute to the resolution of several story arcs throughout the game, they just don't contribute to the ending itself.

ME3 has easily the best combat in the trilogy. Everything else is great until the game takes a huge faceplant during the last hour or whenever the new villain Kai Leng appears on screen.

Just finished ME2 (besides the Arrival DLC since it makes most sense to play postgame for lore reasons) and it is still a phenomenal game. It also has one of the best final levels and endings in all of video games. I'm guessing it still going to hold the spot for best game in the trilogy for me even after I replay ME3.
