Weirdly it has some things that I'd never expect Disney to release. For one thing one of the songs has the witch casually throw around the word "raping me" which made me raise an eyebrow from a Disney release, knowing how anal they are about that kinda stuff.

And the big bad wolf with little red riding hood hits a little different when it has kind of... molesty connotations? The wolf is played by Johnny Depp.

That's honestly one of the worst movies I've seen in theaters. I usually love musicals but the songs were so grating.

It feels like a live action family guy, what is this movie? Is it just all the fairy tale stories mashed together as a single movie?

I mean Shrek had some fairy tale references but also its own original story...

It was dreadfully boring. I don't know if maybe in 1986 the idea of existential fairy tales with modern day sensibilities was revolutionary but the whole story was tiresome and not particularly funny.

They also killed off the best actors lol, Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep. I thought Emily was the heart and soul of the movie but then they did what they did with the prince

That's a coincidence you'd say that. I just got In The Heights today and skimmed it and thought "is this basically just modern times west side story where it's a day in the life of a hispanic community?"
