I also learned that the main founding person was William Penn, a fairly englithened rich guy. They used to exist.

Revivals and charismatic preachers were quite common in the 18th century. Preachers from the 18th century often favoured emotion and improvisation over scripted performances that stuck closely to Scripture.

Charles II had no direct heir. James II was head of the Church of England, but was also a Catholic.

It's supposed to be Deutsch, as in Deutschland. Lotsa Germans in PA. But that's hard for Americans to say so Dutch.
