The "Doge" Meme, the image of a Shiba Inu with an odd smirk broke the record for the most expensive nonfungible token (NFT) when it sold for 4 MILLION!!

It is considered one of the internet's most iconic and renown memes sold at an auction site Zora friday to @pleasrdao, who placed the winning bid of 1696.9 of the cryptocurrency Ethereum worth 4 million smackerse...

The image was put on the block Tuesday written as the "original image that started it all"

A bidding war for the meme broke out between users @twodollahotdoge and the winning bidder driving up the price considerably but pleasrdao prevailed

Don Caldwell, editor in chief of the internet meme database Know Your Meme said they are so happy to be part of this milestone in internet history and if any meme deserved it it was Doge.

The image Shiba Inu, named Kabosu was taken by her own, a Japanese Kindergarten teacher named Atsuko Sato in 2010. She scared the pictres of her rescue adopted dog to her blog alongside a series of other famous images under the title "Taking a walk with Kabosu-chan"

She had no idea her image would soon become the internet picture meme today as a portion fo the proceeds from this sale will go twoard several charities, including the Japanese Red Cross Society and World Food Programme

"Doge" came from a 2005 episode of the Flash cartoon Homestar Runner. Her image spread along with an overlaid Comic Sans text meant to convey the dogs thoughts and grammatically incorrect phrases such as "much feels" and "many happy"

It recently came back to the spotlight cause of Dogecoin but repesents only a fraction of Bitcoin's 1 trillion value
