I played very few bits and pieces of The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II while at friends' houses and the like, but didn't actually sit down and commit to a Zelda game until Link to the Past. I believe I was 12 or 13.

I have pictures of me as a 2 year old with a NES controller.. Likely dying repeatedly as I was playing TMNT. I'm sure I played Zelda at some point, especially given the shiny gold cartridge.

First game I ever beat was LttP as a 7 year old.. It took me forever and I still remember the rush I got when I FINALLY beat Ganon. I also remember my whole town being evacuated because of a major gas line break while I was toiling away at the final dungeon.

I also discovered the golden sword when I was bored and chucking shit into the fairy fountain. I ran and got my 13 year old brother who did everything he could to not be impressed.

I was around 4 when I saw a Zelda game. It was LTTP. I got to see it for less than 30 seconds, but all the concepts were clear as day and hit my young brain like lightning bolts. It was a guy! In a world! With a sword! He cut grass!

Up until that time, I had only played SNES a handful of SNES games and never even knew of Zelda.

Original Zelda on NES when I was about 4 or 5

i think 11. got OoT for christmas.

Somewhere in my early 20's. I had no clue what Zelda was till the original Super Smash Bros. And I didn't have any interest in them throughout the rest of my childhood.

I touched ALttP between 3-6, but I did nothing of significance. Somewhere between 7 and 9 is when I gave OoT a good shot, but didn't get past Jabu Jabu. Fitting that to this day, I don't like settings based on innards.

maybe 6...7? I played Zelda 1 and immediately hated it. I still hate it. Link to the Past is a masterpiece, but I just can't with the first 2 Zelda games.

I was probably 6. My cousin had Wind Waker, I went to the store (Blockbuster?) looking for Wind Waker, and came home with Four Swords Adventures.
