hell i wouldn't have looked into it if i didn't get a surprise update notification when i turned on my PS3 tonight. well time to let this thread feed the purge monster.

Great news. I was legitimately about to buy some stuff in vita last night because I dont wanna miss out. Im flat out not buying these new systems, so I want my classics.

I really wish Sony would make a new handheld to rival the switch (maybe something that doesnt have controllers which are made to break on you).

Yeah I was real glad to hear it. The PSP store is still closing but...I don't think anyone's really going to complain about that one.

I'm also real glad I didn't just impulse buy a bunch of PS3 and Vita games. I did buy Persona 4 Golden though so...they did get me to spend something.

They only delayed it. It will still be shut down eventually.

the only way they can do it without backlash is to make every psp and ps3 game available on the current gen console, for free for those who already purchased it.

why they dont do this already is beyond me not really its just for $$$

not sure the update was for the store specifically but it did remind me. i already bought some stuff but i intended to go back in and pick up a few more things.

When I bought a PS4, they wouldnt let me play half of my ps3 stuff and wanted me to re purchase it (at full price) as a PS4 title. Part of why I sold it. I dont know about yall, but I like my entertainment area to be consolidated. I dont want fifteen different game systems and their power cords cluttering the place up, so the PS4 was an instant strikeout for me based on the fact that I was expected to re purchase half of my games or play musical systems. Dumb idea and the system had a garbage game library, too.

Yeah its BS. They shouldnt have console specific versions of classic titles. One you buy a PS3 game it should work on all future consoles. And any PS5 game you buy should carry over to the PS6 etc

Thats what I expected, but I guess its mostly on me for not looking into it. I had several hundred dollars worth of PS3 stuff that I was suddenly expected to purchase again. It felt like a scam so I bowed out.

The problem is that sometimes its hard to get a proper warning about this kind of thing because people who buy the new Playstation always seem to conveniently not mention that stuff because theyre trying to convince every Xbox owner that the PS is better. Fanboys will rip you up for daring to criticize the item if you want proof, go to the Switch board and talk about how joycons dont work.

Good. "Hey let's sell you an all digital $400 PS5 but you would only be allowed to be able to buy those games for 10 years since we will close down the store to save a few $." Definitely really stupid of them to even mention closing it.
