I've been saying Cillian Murphys name wrong since 28 Days Later came out.

Its apparently Kill ian even though its spelled with a C.

And then people have been fucking up my name for 40 years. Its Wes ley (Wes lee) not West ley (west lee). There is no damn T in my first name. Its like they learned how say my name by watching Mr Belvidere in the 80s/90s.

One that immediately comes to mind: Facade -> Face-aid

I also have a vivid grade school memory where I came across "notice" the first time and I was like "....not-tais" (ai as in Kai).

This topic reminds me of the time I stumbled across a horrorcore rapper with the word Macabre in his name and he literally pronounced the r every time, and in actual recorded music no less

Steve Leonard who likes to call himself Leopard sometimes, is pronounced like leopard the jungle animal, not Leo-pard as in Leonardo. Same with Leonard, it's not pronounced like Leonardo except without the o

It's more like Lu-strange. It's French.

not my entire life, but in the last few years since i've been into eating healthier and intermittent fasting for the purposes of weight management, as part of researching all of that, i ran across the word "satiety" and i assumed it was pronounced similar to "satiate", as they share common root words, so i was pronouncing it kinda like "saysh-ety" i guess. come to find out like a month or two ago that it's actually "sa-tie-ety".

I think that's also correct in some dialects.
