I got duped. I bought a dehumidifier, and now a year later it doesn't work anymore. I go look up the seller information to message them and this is what I see:

I don't even know if that's real Chinese. Looks like made up Chinese. And then I investigate further into all the other purchases I've made. Basically any item not sold directly by Amazon has a seller bio like this. I mean, I knew it was bad. But I had no idea it was this bad.

I mean what the hell. Is China the only country that manufactures things? What is the rest of the world doing? Ok, to be fair, I've seen shirts from Pakistan and India. But literally anything else is China. What is this madness?!

I just found a humidifier from a seller in Nebraska in just a few minutes.

Also, why would you expect a refund on an item you bought a a year ago?

Most things tend to have at least year long warranty.

I never buy anything from Amazon sellers. Always shipped and sold via Amazon.

That's fair. I've purchased things from Chinese sellers that I've had to return and they were responsive and gave me a refund. Mine were returned within a few weeks, but a year warranty is a year warranty.

Also if Chinese manufacturers with bizarre names are red flags to you after this experience, then you should:
A. Research the product and manufacturing info located above the reviews (which should NEVER be taken at face value ever)
B. Pay extra from a reputable brand name/vendor.

i had an umbrella break with a guarantee.
took some hoops to get it returned. seller said they would send another no problem.

a week later i had to contact amazon to get an exchange.
it was with a chinese seller. still had to send the umbrella back so i wouldn't get charged (the defective one).
