Found the games on steam.

I played it a lot way back when I was a kid. I don't remember if I had ever gotten past the piano puzzle. The endings seemed vaguely familiar so I must have.

I'm going to get Riven next. I've never played it but remember the ads in my gaming magazines and the review in game informer made it look cool. It was a five disk set for PlayStation.

I realized, the moment I fell into the fissure, that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned. It continued falling into that starry expanse, of which I had only a fleeting glimpse. I have tried to speculate where it might have landed. I must admit, however, such conjecture is futile. Still, the question of whose hands might one day hold my Myst book are unsettling to me. I know my apprehensions might never be allayed, and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written.

Good to hear. This play through was trivial but that could have been because I had played it already.

Riven is still probably my favorite game ever. By far the best one in the series imo. The puzzles are much more coherent/interconnected, both mechanically and conceptually, and it's got this special vibe. No other game really like it that I've come across.

+1 on Riven being awesome. it actually turned me off of the series as a kid (literally my first ever console game, at 14. after beating myst when it originally released). the constant disc switching on the psx was brutal, and i gave up pretty quickly

replaying it on pc thanks to the kickstarter a few years ago? sooooooooo much better.
