IMO, I feel like there is a lot of quackery that is probably prevalent with psychologists and therapists. However, I feel people who have sought out therapy are probably people who probably care more about life.
I also find that in some cases like when it's warrented, that when parents seek therapy for their child, it shows they really care, especially when they don't just automatically take everything the psychologist/therapist says and advises and is very careful about it. They have real clinical usebut theyre almost never utilized for that in the US. Instead theyve turned into a rich persons ego cheerleading squad here.

i think there's value in it, but quality of the therapist/psychiatrist is going to vary from person to person.

Not for me.
I don't necessarily have a problem with it but I have a few friends who go to therapy and won't shut up about how they think everyone should go. I'm glad it if it helped/helps you, and I don't want to be an asshole, but not everyone needs that shit.
