Replacement of MDs should have never been the goal and it is sad that hospital admins are pushing for such just to cheap out.

Can't confirm if they truly have B12 deficiency unless you order methylmalonic acid and homocysteine levels. Atypical lymphocytes are meaningless, and the first step towards interpreting a leukocytosis is to obtain a differential and find out which cell line is most elevated, then determine if that is a natural response to infection.

I find it kind of insane that they would need to refer to hematology for something that any internist or family medicine physician could interpret.
