Just want to dissipate some of the negativity caused by the three topics whining about how Gamefreak wants to make a profit.

They're a business. Get over it.

Anyway Sinnoh is one of my favorite regions and I'm happy to see they are treating it well hopefully the Platinum Pokedex will be added instead of the really small one the vanilla versions had.

D/P with the improvements Platinum made sounds pretty darn good to me. I thought the 4th Gen games were pretty good, especially with Platinum, so I'm looking forward to these.

You are correct, it's entirely possible they're more faithful to base D/P and they won't add a lot of what Platinum did to the original games (OR/AS being largely a disappointment comes to mind with the Battle Frontier being cut).

That being said, Game Freak isn't developing this, so people should be a little more optimistic going in. And even if they drop the ball, some people will still enjoy them, so just let people enjoy them, vote with your wallet, etc.

I am looking forward to them. I do think they could have easily retailed at $50 and it be completely reasonable.

After all, didn't they retail for $34.99 for release in 2006 when they came out (I think the same for Platinum when that arrived, I only played Platinum from that Gen and loved it).

they made a massive profit selling the OGs for 30 dollars ffs. 50 dollar markup. they dont need a 50 dollar markup to make money dude. theyre probably gonna be inferior to platinum anyways.

I'm skipping them. They just seem like regressions as opposed to the updates that we got with past remakes (even ORAS, which outright ignored the Emerald stuff).

the reason pokemon is in this dreadful state it is now is because they realized theres a gigantic army of parents and fanboys who will buy any thing of any quality for any price as long as it says Pokmon on it, so they charge more for crap that is magnitudes worse than the classics that put Pokmon on the map.

voting with your wallet doesnt work with Pokmon because if theyre releasing crap that people who put thought into their purchases wont buy, they just up the price to milk the fanboys and parents who will buy it no matter how hard it sucks

There's literally been zero info since announcement trailers that showed nothing other than that they exist.

In the one trailer we've had theres two pieces of evidence to show that theyll have more than just Diamond and Pearl content

Besides Porygon Z being in the trailer, around 34 seconds in there is a shot of Floroma Town. In the bottom Corner theres an NPC with blonde hair. This NPC is not present in vanilla Sinnoh. She's only present in Platinum and she's essential to getting Shaymin.

While it's too soon to say, that could have just been a convenience for Shaymin's sake. We still don't know if things like the Distortion World or the Battle Frontier will be coming back.

You know I had forgotten Game Freak wasn't making them. Maybe that is a good thing then. ORAS not taking much from Emerald would lead me to assume that the same thing will happen with these remakes.

That said, I have no interest in these despite never playing DPP. I have no interest in any Pokemon games till the series gets a serious overhaul.
