Going through his loyalty mission and just seeing the passion he has for what he thinks is right. He is obviously so conflicted about the genophage but his analytical approach to life and science makes him blind to it. He also consistently discusses how it would have been wrong to sterilize and almost feels like he was responsible for keeping any hope of the Krogran breeding at all alive.

It is honestly very subtle and excellent writing on what is kinda a no-win situation for his character.

1. Those are your choices, you can agree with the genophage whole-heartedly.
2. The way I read it is that Mordin is using statistics and "simulations" to cover for the fact that he knows on a moral and ethical stance what he did was at best flawed, and at worst flat out wrong. Shep moralizing is just their way of trying to punch through Mordin's analytical mind. IMO

I think it was handled well.

Mordin made the right call given the circumstances at the time.

When Wrex and Eve take over, those circumstances change and so does his opinion.

If Wreav takes over without Eve, the circumstances haven't changed and you can convince him that the genophage is still the right call.

Yeah. His decisions weren't wrong given what was going on in the Galaxy. Hell he didnt even develop the Genophage, just altered it to ensure similar efficacy when the Krogan started to evolve to combat it. Like he said, that evolution could have went in many different directions, could have altered the Krogan in a disastrous way forever.

That being said, an excellent character and one who I kinda compare all RPG characters to.
