1. 6 months employment to get it, which is fair honestly

2. Fail to specify which one they would get. No one is expecting pro max 12 but there's nothing stopping them from giving you like a 6 or something, it's sketchy

3. Dependant on employee review, so they got 6 months to find out you were late once or skipped out a duty one time or somehow were imperfect on whatever petty thing only for them to tell you that you don't qualify

if its an iPhone 12 Pro, its definitely worth it

  • passive income for 6 months
  • pay actually isnt bad anymore if you don't have a degree. it's not minimum wage
  • its a shitty job, but just do your shit for 6 months and quit

Probably also will require you work more hours per week than they'll ever actually allot to an employee.

And of course, they'll consider it a work expense to give you that piece of equipment, so they can write it off in their taxes.

If you quit or get fired will they make you give it back if you want your final check?

Honestly, it's a good thing for an employer as well. The amount of folks that don't have their own phone and make that level of income is significant. If their boss needs to get a shift covered, it's much easier to send out a mass text since everyone has a phone.

This is the trick.

I worked at Arbys as my first job. Got up to shift manager and was looking at possibly looking up further. Then I looked at the vacation stats. You needed to work, I think, 36 hours per week average. I was 35.8, or something similarly close. And it was the exact same way all three years I was there, by no accident.

There's a factory here in the town I live in, they have to offer insurance after 6 months. They literally fire people 5 minutes before the last day of their 6 months.

Fast food has some shady, scummy shit there. Three years at arbys gave me significantly more horror stories than three years at Wal-Mart.

Funny enough, of all the shit I had to deal with the most illegal thing I ever saw working there was actually something good. We were shortstaffed and manager needed to cover hours, I was already at 40 hours. The only way to cover it would be to have me work overtime, so her only option was to have it be below minimum staff(as in, one person managing both front end and kitchen), because overtime was strictly never allowed. So I offered to work the overtime and have her adjust the hours so the extra ones went on the next pay period when they wouldn't be counted as overtime. So technically I was cheated out of overtime, but in reality I got paid more than I would've otherwise. Didn't even realise until years later how absolutely illegal that was, lol

Theyre trying everything to avoid giving people a fair wage. How about just increase pay? Decrease CEO and upper management pay, cut advertising, and pay the freaking workers. Also, dont touch the prices unless youre lowering them.

Sounds like a call to the state labor board would fix that. Especially if you had hard paperwork stating start date and end date, more so down to the hour/time.

Pretty easy for them to call that period a probationary period and say that you failed your probationary period. They can say they were giving you a chance to improve and you didn't.

I meant to further imply if you had sources like that from multiple employees.

It'd go smoother if they also refused to pay your last paycheck or something (doubt they're that dumb if they're being this scummy)

If they can afford to buy iphones, they can afford to raise the wages.

How about instead of Iphones, they just increase wages without increasing prices and let that profit take a hit.

The most ironic thing about Republicans defending this behavior is that McD is one the biggest welfare beneficiaries, they only reason why they've gotten away with paying low wages all this time is because their employees are subsidized with housing, foodstamp, disability payment. It's not "free market!" as they try and convince themselves it is
