I think it retreads the same ground just a tad too often, but it still tries to stay interesting even during that. The game's biggest sin is definitely the repeated text for picking up items every time you start up a play session, and the crafting system is kinda shit. Still a great game though imo.

^the text thing, the slow start, fighting a boss one too many times/going back to the same areas, and people's divided opinion on motion controls.

I think you should try the controls and see how you like them. Wii version I liked for the most part. also I'm sure they will fix a lot of QoL stuff, like the text

It's not a bad game overall, but certain parts are a slog namely the Song of the Hero fetch quest. If you don't like and have no tolerance for motion controls, you also probably won't like it as well.

I loved it. It's one of only 2 Zelda's I played through to the end (OoT the other.) It's the only game I ever enjoyed playing with motion controls.

Besides what's been mentioned, the "overworld' is somewhat lacking in that the sky is empty and boring, and the ground areas have no interconnection at all, making the sky feel too much like a glorified level select. Also, the padding after the first six dungeons is pretty awful.

Overly hand-holding, even late game. Needed to explain everything before giving you a chance to try to figure out even puzzles on your own. Fi was just flat out annoying.

Controls sucked. Enemies were basic bitches whose only gimmick was that they blocked in certain directions. Game was incredibly easy as a result, with the only challenge being that sometimes your swings didn't properly register.

Characters all looked like wax monsters. The world above the clouds was empty, boring, and somehow plain-looking. The worlds below the clouds weren't interconnected and felt small.
