It's actually going to be my first time playing the original since like 2007 or 2008. Plus, it's EA. A company I've successfully boycotted since... well, mass effect 3, really. just because they released the one thing they could to convince me to buy something from them, I can at least make sure they get as little as possible out of me, for it. The biggest hurdle for me was the EA Origin launcher. 10 years ago it was an issue because of the resources required to have it running in the background, and the fact that it was another launcher for a game beyond Steam. Now every single fucking company is trying to have its own launcher. You have Battle.net, GOG, Steam, EA Origin, Rockstar Games launcher, EGS, etc. It's impossible to fight now. Overload works on both shields and barriers. Incinerate is great when fully leveled. Cryo blast is excellent. The turret is a wonderful distraction and when you upgrade it with missiles it deals good damage. And Soldier was clearly rather boring in the first game. I almost always had Liara in my party just because I loved using her Singularity so much. But I tried replaying it once and just couldn't get into it again.
