I'm honestly excited for that when I move down there, I have a portable infrared sauna in my spare bedroom I like to sit in every time I get angry about the Minnesota weather

as someone who's been in both a hurricane and lived in the IE it definitely doesn't get hurricane bad lol

it really depends where you live. California is mostly dry weather.

It's hotter in socal (despite near the coast), the valleys, south bay and sacramento. The valley soutbay and sacramento will be hot AF (90s-100s every summer) in the summer but also cooler in the winter than the bay area

Bay area ( east bay and near SF) and monterey have the tolerable and coolest temperatures year round..

we have wildfires in the summer (dry weather sucks for this) and a big earthquake due supposedly soon though.

Newspaper archives have many photographs of regional damage dating back to the beginnings of news reporting in Los Angeles. When the Los Angeles Basin was primarily an agricultural region, the winds were feared particularly by farmers for their potential to destroy crops.[2]

In early December 2011, the Santa Ana winds were the strongest yet recorded. An atmospheric set-up occurred that allowed the towns of Pasadena and Altadena in the San Gabriel Valley to get whipped by sustained winds at 97 mph (156 km/h), and gusts up to 167 mph (269 km/h).[19] The winds toppled thousands of trees, knocking out power for over a week. Schools were closed, and a "state of emergency" was declared. The winds grounded planes at LAX, destroyed homes, and were even strong enough to snap a concrete stop light from its foundation.[20] The winds also ripped through Mammoth Mountain and parts of Utah. Mammoth Mountain experienced a near-record wind gust of 175 mph (282 km/h), on December 1, 2011.[19]

A lot of people forget how fucking huge and diverse California is. You've got just about every ecosystem. Where I'm at, I'm in a god damn weather bubble. It's always cold and foggy. I'm right off the coast, about a 8 minute jog to the beach, but there's no point in going since the water is always dangerously freezing.

Like dont get me wrong im sure they CAN get that fast but like a tornado in san diego. its not the norm
