Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

The majority of the Rare Blades are female, and some of the best Blades in the game are female, such as Mythra, Pneuma, KOS-MOS, T-elos, Zenobia, Crossette, and Poppi.

I feel like Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 are two examples.

Laura, Millium, Emma, Alisa, Sara, and Fie are all very useful characters. Machias is sort of weak, Rean is good if you equip him right, Jusis, Elliot, and Gaius arent bad but arent as good as their female counterparts.

You can really use whichever characters you want, but the females are better, IMO.

Sazh is the best combatant in chapters 9-11 and possibly through chapter 13 depending on how much you grind (more grinding = other characters catching up). Snow is one of the best support characters from chapter 10 through postgame. They're underrated because they're strengths aren't obvious to a casual player. Sazh's biggest asset besides earliest access to Haste and En-spells is his unique Blitz, which fires 7 bullets in a cone and doubles his damage output if all 7 bullets hit a target. Snow is just fast. For whatever reason, he's the fastest physical attacker, the fastest offensive caster, and the fastest defensive caster, and as a result he out-performs his on paper stats and abilities. He belongs in almost any optimized lategame or postgame party regardless of what you're fighting.

Arcane Gale > Female characters > Male characters.

Sahz gets haste the earliest, so he's great for a period of time

Machias is kind of busted in the first game, though, and in every other game he's a status effect/stat down machine. Definitely not weak IMO.

Like he can give you virtually infinite turns in the first game and never let the enemy go.

eh, not really. new characters usually power creeps old ones regardless if gender, and the games releases more females than males.

Yall make some good points about ToCS. I may try Machias in my next play through. Mostly, I just found his damage output lacking when compared to people like Laura and Millium. I honestly usually use the same party, so next time I need to switch it up.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall. Of course, your team is only 4 characters, but of those 4, Blitz basically exists in case the player character isn't a decker: he's pretty useless otherwise. Dietrich is a pretty good support shaman, and Glory is beefy and has powerful(but somewhat inaccurate) melee attacks.
It's Eiger who steals the show, packing her shotgun and sniper rifle combo. Plus, she's a troll, so she's sturdy as hell and later on, you can get her a great assault rifle, just in case that weird range that was too far for the shotgun and too close for the sniper bugged you. Eiger is Lady Death in firefights; sniping troublesome back-line enemies and blasting anything that dares come close with her shotgun. She does such good work you may as well roll with it and spec for medium-range fighting, if you're not decking you should be.

REmake 2, Claire has it much easier than Leon IMO. Her starting revolver is weak (before upgrades at least) but that is where her weaknesses end. Grenade Launcher destroys Lickers (Leon struggles and has to knife) and G1, JMB pistol is the best 9mm, she runs faster while on Caution status, maybe faster than Leon in water too, smaller hitbox lets her run past G adults easier, can cheese G2 with Sparkshot, stun lock G3 to death with acid grenades. Leon gets the Magnum but Claires SMG is no slouch either, and her revolver can be upgraded to use magnum rounds too.

Edit: Her route during the part with Mr. X chasing you in the police station is easier too.
