Pretty weak. There were maybe a dozen dealers and ammo was outrageous, like $40-$60/box for .308, 5.56, .223 etc. I did sell some silver to a dealer and traded 2 oz to a guy for the shells. I got:

6 armor piercing incendiary shells
3 LTL rubber ball shells
100 subsonic .22 rounds
Holster
Shell bandolier
Water purification tabs
Trioxane

Oh, dude, ammo is so out of control right now. $1/bullet for 9mm and 5.56 and theyre selling (in stores) one box per customer. I really wanna go shooting, but when every shot costs a dollar, it would be an expensive trip.

Ive heard its the military buying it on priority before the stores and distributors have a fair chance to get any. So basically, no ammo for us...

Why does the military need all this ammo right now? Is something going on??

That's where I'm at, too expensive to go target shooting rn.

I've heard that too. Idk, someone has to be because the major retailers have been basically out for a year. I don't even bother with Fleet Farm anymore, and every private dealer I go to has strict 1-2 box per caliber limits on the slim pickings they do have. I'm sure some are keeping half their shipments either for themselves or they're auctioning/selling online.

Growing and real threat of insurrection is my guess. Idk that the military needs the ammo, more so trying to limit/curb people stocking up on thousands of rounds. Which honestly I'm not entirely sure I disagree with.

I'm just pulling this out of my ass, but maybe they(the pentagon) was running low, and I can't imagine they like being low on ammo, even if they don't foresee any escalations in the near future. But then again TC's theory could be right.

Ooh yeah definitely upgrade that lol. Prices have gone up a bit, bit you can still find a perfectly capable pump for as low as $250ish. Turkish manufacturers have really become players in the defensive combat pump category

Exactly. I'm not going to have my nice Bianchi getting messed up

GregShmedley posted...
The thing is, that holster is probably more dangerous than it is useful, and that will become more evident the longer it gets used. Especially if it's for yardwork.

If I gave a fuck about your goofy opinion I'd ask you to elaborate, but...I don't.
Suffice it to say your assumption my firearm would be cocked with the safety off (really the only way I could possibly get hurt) speaks volumes towards either your knowledge of guns or your attitude towards gun safety.
Idk or care what your problem with me is, but you're just embarassing yourself being all dramatic.

I hate those cheapo shotgun shell bandoliers. I got one about 15 years ago from CTD and its now functionally useless due to elastic degradation.
It looks almost exactly like the one you have too.

That being said, it looks like you really got hosed today. Most gunshows I go to are to pick up cheap knick nacks and if I can get a deal on junk silver coins. Most table owners are too fuddy and refuse to budge on the price of good stuff.

Ah, sorry if I sounded like I had an attitude. Honestly I just prefer having a holster for different functions/tasks, this one was cheap enough idc if it gets trashed or is junk and I liked the feel. My PK380 is a tough gun to find a cheap holster for due to the laser sight

Funny you say that, last one I went to was about 20 yrs ago in Alaska and it was beyond massive. You pretty much nailed it with the pawn shop comment, that's pretty much what it was lol. Only one table even had military surplus gear and there were shockingly few guns

Not gonna happen again, thats why I carry to mow my lawn. And yes, I realize its fucking ridiculous but dog bites hurt. Bad.

No worries man I wasnt really trying to be aggressive either.

And yes a laser/light can make it tough depending on how popular the gun and/or light is. I happen to be lucky enough to have a friend who makes kydex holsters, I can stop by his shop and he can mold me one in about 30 mins.

I have a walther p22 btw I love those (pk380 is same frame). I came pretty close to buying one of those with a stainless slide when they were like $300 but I didnt because my g43 and xds9 are like the same size but 9mm. I have an LCPII in .380 though for my pocket.

Who's getting accosted by people in armor? And in the case armor man shows up do you just tell them to wait for you to go get your specialty shells. Or does one just live their life in constant fear of armor man and always carry a gun with various types of ammo. Gun owners that go overboard always struck me as having a similar mentality to doomsday preppers.

I'll also say that when I was robbed in my apartment at gunpoint, while I didn't own a gun, I wouldn't have been prepared for my door being kicked in regardless. (I should mention while I lost things that cost money, no one was hurt. If I also had a gun I'm not sure that situation would have been harm free). Do people really spend all their time worrying if they have their guns on them? Just sitting around the home constantly checking they have a gun nearby. Or is it a action movie type deal where you just dangerously stuff guns around the home in your couch cushions, cupboards, and mattresses. Every time you have sex you're taking the time to set a gun on the side table incase you're caught with your pants down. Idk just seems like a paranoid way to live.

I get wanting guns because you like them, but the protection angle just seems like a load of bullshit to me and rarely pans out that way in practice.

*sigh*

You're right, you're not going to have a negligent discharge with an empty chamber. But carrying without one in the chamber defeats the purpose of having something lethal that is readily available in a defensive scenario.

I don't know where you live and what type of yard work you're doing, but carrying a gun:
-without one in the chamber
-safety on
-in a shitty cloth holster that will wear out with all of your sweat and movement within weeks
is just adding so much delay to yourself in a time where seconds means the difference between life and death. And you may end up hurting yourself or someone else.

The fact that you actually think carrying loaded (even without safety on) is somehow "unsafe," tells me you clearly need some training.

So let's swallow your pride, trash that piece of shit, take a class with a one on and on instructor, and invest in some quality gear. If you're going to carry a fucking gun, at least be serious about it.

Any questions?

Yeah, where would you like your gold medal sent? You, know, for the mental gymnastics.

This is beyond petty, even for you. You don't know me, what training I've had, or my capabilities. A chambered weapon can go off, fact. An unchambered weapon will never discharge. Fact. Personal preference my guy, stay salty and keep trying to educate us on how carrying a loaded weapon with the safety off is responsible gun ownership

GregShmedley posted...
Also, just wanted to revisit this. So I've actually asked you that multiple times. If you recall, 90% of our interactions are you randomly engaging me with some sort of snide attitude and even insults. I just popped in here and admittedly didn't catch your name. And being prepared doesn't mean you live in fear.

What if the person that kicked your door wanted to kill you?

Btw TC keep a round in the chamber. Your pistol has a double action first shot and a safety for a reason. If you have to use your non-dominant hand to push off of someone to get to your gun you'd be fucked. Or if you need more than like 3 seconds youd be fucked

Think about if a dog was attacking you and you couldn't get your gun out of that velcro holster before it was on top of you. So you're using one arm/hand to keep it off of your neck. You draw, click! Your only hope would be using your belt or something and your back sight to rack it.

I'll grant you it's extremely unlikely I'll ever need those shells, but in these crazy times you just never know. These could also destroy an engine block, so it's an anti vehicle round as well. Also I keep specialty rounds in a side saddle on the gun, they're easily identified and takes all of a second to slide one in.

Some people like the feeling of security. I'll also point out people who don't train with/aren't familiar with their weapons are typically the ones getting hurt. Unless someone gets the drop on you and at that point it doesn't matter who you are or what you have.

Webly as in the British revolver last issued in WWII? Yeah, good freakin' luck. That's a .455, which isn't exactly common.

I heavily suggest you take up handloading. And possibly handcasting bullets. If you do, start hanging around tire shops to pick up wheel weights.

Nice. I've got nine days till I pick up my Webley, and found a local place that'll get me ammo for it. Problem is it's a case minimum, and when I asked how soon it'll be in he said that "it will take a long time", but wouldn't get more specific.

A Webley Semi Automatic Revolver?

Omg so dope!
