I was interested in it until I saw they were going full fantasy.

that's like saying because you like cheese, everything has to be cheese now!

but for real, I just added the "special" part because it reminded me of TLoU, but remove her abilities, and it's like the umpteenth story about some dude who regains his purpose helping some kid do what (s)he has to do/take them where they need to be.

I'm not saying every story needs to be original to be good, but besides Yasuke being a black samurai, idk if any part of the story really stands out.

if it was more grounded in reality, and focused on parts of his actual life, I think it would have been more interesting.

well i was initially interested cause of the art style and the fact that Flying Lotus is producing it's soundtrack.

but after seeing the reception it received, i dunno...
