Basically Im asking which PC games have the best Mods/Modding communities

Skyrim hands down.

You can easily turn the game into a gorgeous 4K graphics behemoth and with far more realism and immersiveness than any other game out there if you mod correctly

Pretty much any game that has an active modding community. Isaac has a massive community, though everyone is trying to unlock everything in Repentance at the moment. Even older games like Final Fantasy 9 have been actively updated by modders to make things look more like the original, but with high def. graphics. One of the updates even makes a few of the backgrounds dynamic rather than static.

Then you get into the obvious rom-hacks, like Link to the Past Randomizer, which you can get in cartridge form, but the hack version allows you to play through a new random every playthrough.

If you have a good PC, then it's all of them. If Playstation and XBOX start opening more of their platforms up to that sort of thing, they might be able to compete. But it's always PC. I love consoles for the price vs PC but now that I have a good one nooooo waaaaay lol.

PC definitely will be the better option, but for the time that I dont have a proper PC yet, if the difference is huge enough, Im okay with waiting to play a game until I build a PC. Are the Dark Souls game mod-heavy? Theyre all on PS4 but if mods enhance the games a lot Id be willing to wait.

Alternatively, what cross-platform games are unchanged-enough to just bite the bullet and get the PS4 version of? If the PC version isnt a huge leap

The Souls games have a handful of solid mods. They are mostly tailored to creating a fresh experience though, if you havent played, Id advise against modding them.

Despite the earlier post, I think the resident evil modding has been weak. I expected like little mini campaigns by now or something lol. It's probably not developers fault, just tools available but still. I primarily play PC now so I wouldnt even know a lot of cross platform games. Mostly everything comes to PC now. Playstation 4 only had a handful of exclusives that realllly got me and in the end some are coming to PC anyways aka Horizon Zero Dawn. If you cant wait just get the ps4 version
