Ive played the core game a bit, but it was awhile ago. All I remember was to try and low light early to get the better rewards.

I love this game. It is what got me into RPGs.

The lower the light, the better the rewards, yes but it also makes enemies more fearsome and increases your stress at a higher rate.

I would say try to upgrade the stage coach. This will force you to upgrade the guild and the armory as well but higher level adventurers will save you the money of upgrading them later.

Figure out which teams work good as synergies. Arbelists, Bounty Hunters and Houndmasters all have attacks that do extra damage to marked enemies. Understanding the battle conditions will allow you to deal out heavy damage on some of the toughest enemies.

Always have a healer or pack tons of food.

Anyway, I rage quit this game several months ago and haven't touched it since. I know dying in dungeons is part of the point in games like this, but having a boss monster pop up unexpectedly from random chance is infuriating. Watch out for the Shambler.

Have patience and prepare for losses.

Turn all DLC on, you can visit those areas at your wish. Be very careful what party you send to the Court. I recommend a C team (around mid-game) designated only to clear the court, then be dismissed at the wagon. You'll know why.

I would play without Crimson Court. It's really a resource sink and it takes quite a bit away from the main game but that's just my opinion.

Cleared 3 dungeons now and havent lost a person. Upgraded the Stagecoach to have more units to pick from. I think twice.

How do the relics work? Like if I buy them are they gone once the unit dies? Dont want to waste gold how to figure it out, lol

It's determined by a lot of unit stats, including speed. It's under the hood and players don't get to see it though. You can manipulate it with quirks like on guard, quick draw, luminous, quick reflexes, etc.

• Do all the new units start with the same 4 skills? I saw that you could unlock new ones. So lets say theres 8 skills. The starting healer started with 1,4,7,8, are those 4 the starting skills on the Priest or will some of the ones I recruit have a different set of 4?
• How do I know what I can place on things?
• I think Im getting hurt using the shovel on the walls. Should I be taking damage or getting stressed?
• Is there a way to name your units?
• What should be the basic order of event? Like, when should I try and face the first boss, a Necromancer, I think?
• Still dont understand relics

Classes do not start with the same skills. This can burn you if you are are using a vestal or occultists with no healing. I like to make sure certain skills are being used because it can screw you hard if you don't have what you need, especially during boss fights.

Key items usually have a corresponding pedestal for them to be used. Both keys and shovels can be used to open treasure cases. Unless you have an artificer in your party, I wouldn't bother.

You shouldn't be taking damage or stress if you are using shovels properly on walls.

You can name your units in the same stat box that they are released to the wild.

I like to have my units stronger than what the game suggests for bosses. If it's a level 3 boss, I want at least my damage dealers to be maxed out on their attack skills and weapons, preferably at level 4. I don't take chances on bosses.

Relics (trinkets?) are used basically as equipment. You can equip them to your heroes to increase stat values. Some are class specific. Be careful though, most trinkets that increase one stat will do so at the cost of another stat.

iirc its either 77 or 66 that is the "optimal" light, you can save 5-6 torches by keeping it at that number on long missions, but thats just powergaming stuff.

The game is incredibly in love with its own grind, but once you learn how it works, theres a pretty good chance you'll really love it.

There are a few things I really hated about it, but they directly relate to my point here.

Yeah, I'm pretty lost about what everything does. I don't really want to take the time to read up on what all the status effects do, and the traits, and what not.

I'm still enjoying playing, but I don't really have any strategy or anything. I have 3 people at the Church right now because it's free, but I don't know if I put them in the right spot.

What are some of the Classes and Skills I should be looking for?

I think you might be able to go through the first few dungeons without needing to look a billion things up, it should help you figure out things like party placements and the first perks and such.

Just got, "The Blood," some item that I don't know what it does, lol. God, I'm so lost about the skills, but I'm surviving so far. Just found out you can switch between the characters at camp to do other camping skills >_<
