I graduated early and attended the graduation of my original class. My brothers also attended the same school.

I live right next to it actually. Been inside a few times over the last 20 years. A few things have changed.

We have yet to have any kind of in-person reunion.

But like, for fun? Once, to shoot the shit with an old teacher who was dope as fuck.

I did about 3 years after I graduated. They added a whole new fucking building while I was gone and have WAAAAAY more security now. But it was nice to see my old teachers again

I missed my 10 year reunion because I forgot about it lol. idk maybe I'll go to my 20th year but I honestly don't talk to anyone from high school except 2 people..... who arent even in the same class as me >_>

I moved to a different area, changed my numbers and cut off all contact with everyone who knew me, which wasn't many people thankfully. I then spent a couple years in total isolation.

I kinda wanna visit it again for nostalgic sake and see if any teachers are still around but I'm fucking 30 now and feel like it would be weird to do now >_> Plus I'm hours away too

wow I just checked and the 10 year reunion I missed didn't even take place in the high school. It was at some random pub in literally a different town. What the fuck lol. i thought the whole point of reunions was to just reminisce about highschool with your peers and see the place again.

Inside, no. But I live in the same town and deliver mail there a couple days a week. I have been inside my old elementary school and didn't get any wave of nostalgia I expected. It's just been to long and things are too different.

There's a whole new high school now that I haven't been in. I've been to my old elementary school a few times for social functions, but it's probably been close to 20 years since even that.

Only once. There was a shooting at my high school and I went back with other alumni to take part in a pep rally of sorts to cheer on the students. It's the only time I set foot on school grounds since I graduated

I would, but everyone who worked there was fired and it was repurposed as a school for whatever it is you call people who can't really mentally develop.

My school did a complete remodel the year after I graduated, so I kinda want to see what changed, but. . . eh.

Not to go in, but because I don't live in the area any more I have driven past it when I'm back visiting family so I could point it out to my missus.

It was closed down and fully boarded up, which - not gonna lie - actually felt a bit weird and melancholic to see.

are people allowed to just... walk into schools in America? Like, strangers or ex students?

A few times maybe a year or two after I graduated just to see a friend that was in a lower grade and say hi to my favorite teachers. My 10 year graduation was in 2020 but covid cancelled it.

Depending on the school, and pre-COVID, yeah. Especially a small town where you generally know everyone. They would just have to walk into the school office (almost always near the entrance) to touch base.

Being a teacher was great because students from a year or so back would always drop in on their college breaks and you could catch up.

When I was in high school and people came to visit, it was always cringe to me.

When I was in high school, there was a guard and you had to check into the main office. But when I visited it a few years after, there's 2 sets of locking doors you have to go through as well as an intercom now. I guess security bumped up >_>

And that was a school in a "nice" area. Schools in the inner city have their own dedicated police force and usually have metal detectors and such for the kids. Inner city schools are awful >_> I *highly* doubt those schools let anyone except relatives in

I've soured on hs so much over the years. You change and people are fake lol.

I've been there a few times, but that is just because my mom volunteers for a local community theater that sometimes uses the high school's auditorium. So it has always been in the summer when no kids are around.

No. Never even considered it. Visited my college a bunch of times after graduating but not in the past 5 years or so.

I did once when I was visiting home and had nothing else to do one weekend. There were students and families around having practices in multiple sports so it wasn't just me creeping around alone

But when I tried looking through a door to remember what the interior looked like, apparently I triggered a silent alarm and a cop stopped me on the way back to my car. So I haven't set foot on that campus again :D

I had a few friends in younger grades that I visited a few times during lunch, as well as teachers I went back and chatted with. Only for the first 2 years or so after graduating though, I haven't gone back after that
