Sorry if this is old, but there are surely a few others that aren't aware of this.

Under "My Filters" in the dashboard/options paste the following:

youtube.com##.ytp-ce-element

and apply the changes. Bam, no more blocking off the entire goddamn screen for the last 15 seconds of a video.

Those gigantic thumbnails for other videos from the channel that often block off most of the screen for the last 15 seconds of a video.

At that point, they got their views and revenue. All they care about after that is the next click, not the content.

I suspect the problem is that what made youtube great originally also made it extremely unprofitable

So I can kind of (if I squint) sympathise with the company position of "we need to change this to make it profitable, we're not a charity", but at the same time we are being transfigured from consumers into products to everyone's detriment.

Maybe 'fault' is the wrong word, but cause they chose to buy it I have no sympathy for them
