Most people don't know the first thing about making a good Ramen, but if you do know how, sure, why spend $14 for someone else to make it when you can probably make Ramen at home that's fine tuned to your own tastes.

Well there is a difference between spending $0.25 for a package of shrimp flavored ramen and buying a kit or noodles from someplace like Sun Noodle. But if you can cook you can say that about 80% of the restaurants and if you are a good cook 98% of the restaurants.

You can put more care into the dish yourself, which you already understand despite this topic. Some people cook for fun and the time saved isn't that big a deal. But personally making a broth sounds boring.

She buys the noodles from an Asian market (not that Top Ramen shit but raw, doughy ramen noodles) but her mother (RIP) used to make them from scratch.

I grew up in a black household. One of the first lessons I learned is don't go into the kitchen when the woman of the house is cooking. I learned this in Japan too.
