Some scenes are more interesting than others, but it's decent enoguh. The opening section with the little kid trying to convince the lietenant that he's working for the army is pretty funny. That bit where the horse drawn cart drops apples onto the beach and then other horses eat them was good. The well scene was nice.

I still don't understand why people think Tarkovsky was a genius, but he did have certain iteresting ideas.
