Was it justice for Derek Chauvin to be found guilty of murdering George Floyd?


I know that no matter the verdict, there's going to be a lot of people complaining that it wasn't fair either way. I also know that a lot of people were surprised by the guilty verdict because it seemed for a while like he was actually going to walk. But now that he's awaiting sentencing, is that justice?

The justice will come from his sentencing. This is accountability. He could still end up with a sentence that the general public thinks is too easy, in which case it would not seem like justice to most of us.

It took months of worldwide protests, calls for reforms and accountability, tons of evidence and witness statements for him to barely get convicted.

A regular citizen would have been in jail the very same day. It took a year for a cop to get punished for his crime.
