brestugo 04/19/21 3:59:11 PM #3:	There were two bullying attempts. 4th grade and 8th grade. I was the new kid in school both times. I was quiet, shy, skinny and a good student. I was raised to "never start fights but always stand up to a bully". On those two occasions, I threw the first punch once and the other time was 50-50. I have no idea why I responded violently first, but these guys weren't exactly people you could reason with. Both guys had issues. One guy was held back 2 grades (he may have been 13 when I was 10 and he was a year behind me) - and looking back was angry and frustrated about that. The other guy was pimply, tall, fat, and awkward with violent, alcoholic parents. I'm by no means a violent person but my psyche is relieved I stood up for myself by throwing hands. I wouldn't call either incident much of a fight but I stood up to bullies.
