-Controls are irritating to get used to

Yeah I just recently played through RE4 twice. Its beginning to show its age. What struck me particularly was the lack of enemy variety, and lack of variety in their animations.

The game feels very Arcady as well, I dont know why it never felt like it in years past, but it feels Arcady to me now. Waves and waves of enemies, and the action style gameplay. But at the time the over the shoulder view was new so it made the game feel great. I guess thats what it was.

Arcadey is a good adjective. Not a bad one.

Thats a good point I suppose. But Im beginning to not like it for that reason. The game is fun though, just got to be in certain mood to play it.

Once I'm done with 2 not sure if I'd replay 4 and 7. I'll have to see how my experience goes. I might wait to do the 2nd runs in 2 after I'm done with 4 and 7. It would be nice knowing I still have more to do on 2.

Im playing through the whole series right now and Im really realizing that I love the play style of the original games and RE2/3 Remake over the style of 4,5,Revelations. I like 7 as well because it has that classic RE feel of a balance of puzzles and tension.

i'm still pissed we never got a true sequel to RE4.
5 was all co-op and a weird farming level design and 6 was a bunch of intertwining co-op campaigns >_>

how hard was it really to make a game with one playable protagonist just wrecking shit up in one decently long linear or less-than-linear experience in 3rd person?
