Marvel always owned the rights for as long as the MCU been around but what they don't own are distribution rights. This essentially means they can make a Hulk movie but Paramount gets all the money from everything that isn't specifically a ticket sale, unless paramount chooses not to exercise that right. Disney somehow got it under their nose once probably due to low confidence. Disney don't own any of the Spider-man movies at all. I'm pretty sure they're not even on DIsney+. But they struck a deal with Sony where they share some of the revenue and they can use Marvel Studios in exchange for letting Spider-man be in other MCU movies. While this is all true, it should have been the reverse. Since there were two beings inside the Hulk, when Banner was kicked out, Hulk should have awakened. Instead the body was left empty. Meanwhile, if Strange did that to Thanos, it should have worked since Thanos only has one being in him.
