Both are rush hour for me, but the drive home still always takes longer. So its rushier hour.

I get off at 6 a.m. and traffic is almost non existent at that time.

Takes me 25-30 minutes to get to work

I can usually get home in 17-20 minutes

My office is kind of cool in that they don't give THAT much of a crap when you start work each day as long as you put in the hours.

So I tend to go in after the worse of traffic is over around 8-8:10 and get to work by 8:30. When I leave I leave after the worst of it has passed around 5:15 to 5:30ish and get home in about 20 minutes.

My drive to work takes about 15 my drive back usually takes closer to 25 just because of some weirdness with bottlenecks and waits at lights.

Usually driving to work is easier unless I leave really late. Driving to home is almost always a pain because there's always a damn wreck or three on the damn interstate because Memphians suck ass at driving.

There's a couple really bad red lights on the way home that aren't a problem on the way to work.

I hit way more traffic on the way home. I usually have to get off the freeway to avoid gridlock and take some back roads, which adds like 20 minutes to my commute.

I have about a 4 minute drive each way, so going home is better because I have a cold beer waiting for me.

There's no real time-pressure going home.

Getting out of bed and having to go down the stairs for breakfast is tougher than closing out of my work programs.

Back when I worked in the office precovid, the drive home is easier. Merging to the highway route in the morning can be a major cluster**** and requires 150% of my concentration.

To. I go to work at 3 in the morning when there's almost nobody on the road. Coming home is around noon-ish, lot heavier.

I guess going to work because there is literally no one on the road but it isnt like I have traffic on the way home. Plus, I get happy going home vs being annoyed going in. Its hard to say

Depending on when Im getting off either traffic is much busier when I get off or the sun is setting/has set so it is dark. Either way driving home is worse.
