I don't think enough people will choose to get vaccinated to get us to herd immunity. And even if we do, with all the variants out there I doubt we'll be able to eradicate the virus.
But I do think the world will eventually go back to normal and we'll just live with it. I mean, we're already kinda heading in that direction. Hopefully the vaccines will at least reduce hospitalizations/deaths enough that we're able to do that. We would probably have to get yearly boosters or something for the rest of our lives. ... Yeah we are far too ignorant, selfish and shortsighted to defeat covid at this point. Best case scenario I'm hoping for is that they refine the vaccines enough to be a single annual shot instead of two dose shots that are supposedly only good for about six months

I am feeling the same way, tbh. So many selfish people who did their part by staying home for two weeks last year when the rest of the country put their lives on hold. It all comes down to the citizens and our citizens are the most entitled and selfish people you will ever see.
