Is it a big deal?


From what I've heard, he wasn't even royalty. Just some guy who happened to marry the Queen, which is why he was Prince instead of King. He actually came rather close to 100, but was his life really that important? Or was he more like a figurehead?

the royal family is just a tourist attraction for the UK, so when it eventually crumbles away it'll have an economic impact

whether philip has any relevance towards that, idk

No more big a deal than any other celebrity. Which is to say that it sucks that his life is over, and I sympathize with the family he left behind, but it's not really going to change anything in day to day life.
