We are travelers from the distant galaxy of Yuria! We hail you in peaceful tidings. " they say They explain that they are an deep space charting vessel mapping the universe and not suited for a real first contact so they're going to return to their planet and arrange a proper envoy. However they say they're happy to take any humans who want to come to their world with them if there are any volunteers to expedite communications. The issue is It's going to take them over 17 Earth years to get home (They don't age and will live forever unless they are killed. Some are millions of years old) Then once home they'll arrange a proper first contact envoy fleet with food, medical supplies, teachers/scientists etc which will take another 10-30 years of preparation. And even if you get in on that, it'd still be 17 years back to Earth. So minimum of approx 45-65 years before you could ever return even if you wanted too. https://i.imgur.com/tJepp0x.png It's the literal once in your lifetime chance to visit and explore alien worlds But you'd have to give everything up for that chance and leave your whole life behind as you stride into unforeseen consequences. Then if their food is edible and/or looks edible? Would have to be able to get some info on what to expect going to another planet. But I would want to go. The possibility of what their culture is like would be astounding. What do their cities look like? What kind of music do they listen toom do they listen to music? So many questions. The only way to find out is going there though. cause those of us left wont be able to get any info for years as well. So if I dont go, I will have never experienced another cultural life form. I think I would stay here because it would be such a toss up without more info of what I'm walking into.
