So long story short, I had an ex and I had a camera. The camera was used for many things. She borrowed it before we broke up, and gave it back to me some months afterwards.

She claimed that the batteries in the camera ran out so the SD card reformatted itself.

The memory card had the last photos Id taken of my dad before he died, and hadnt backed up before I lent her the camera.

I know exactly what she did and why she did it and I cant blame her, but would it have killed her to delete specific photos? She knew it had photos I wanted on it, and Id told her before I lent it to her to be careful with the card.

The really irritating thing is I used a program to recover the contents, the photos she didnt want me to have were recoverable ( I didnt recover them), but the photos I actually wanted of my dad werent.

Mind you, after we broke up she also cut up any of my t-shirts I had at her place to make them punk for her own use, so eh.

Nah, she was one of those people I think who struggled with their own feelings of self-worth or lack thereof.

There were many, many things that happened during and after that relationship that used to make me quite angry. It took a while to feel comfortable in my next, normal relationship and not feel like a massive manufactured argument could start at any moment that would end with me having to prove I was committed to the relationship.

She caught me at a very vulnerable time, otherwise I wouldnt have put up with a fraction of it.

Now I just feel deeply sorry for her.
