Ech, those menus look awful.
Some of the backgrounds look gorgeous, some look like plastic toys. I think I'd prefer the original render with a CRT effect.
3D models look good in battle, but awkward with pre-rendered backgrounds. For all the hate the chibi models get, they were designed to be expressive and fit the environment.
Voice acting looks good.

All people ever wanted was FF7 that looked like Advent Children, a la the PS3 tech demo. Not the abomination we actually got, and not this weird unnecessary mod.

Those HD character models look awful. The only thing I want from a mod for Final Fantasy 7 is to remake the background textures and field maps. Voice acting? Hyper realistic 3D character models? Fan made remixes? No.

This exactly. Moguri mod just cleaned up the visuals and made them look on par or slightly better than the cleaned up 3D character models, so it didn't look like you were walking on muddy backgrounds. The FFVII mod is trying to do too much, and a lot of it just doesn't look good.

ok but even if that were the case, remake's models weren't designed for the type of janky ass animations you see in the original game so it looks terrible
