Do you have Comcast/Xfinity by chance? I got an email like that like a month or so ago.

Can't say that I've noticed any differences, but speed increase is welcome.

Nah it's some teeny-ass ISP that somehow has fiber capabilities

I did have comcast at my last apartment though and also got two speed increases at no charge throughout three years of residency

I know, I saw it and was like what the fuck is the catch

six months in, no catch. unbelievably fast and reliable. only downside is no app to see where they might be doing maintenance for those occasional 1am weekday intended outages, but that's really only hosed me like once when it was like 1AM on a worknight and I should've been in bed anyways for work the next morning
