I recall my Grandma using a lot when I was a kid.

Do people still say it? Is it more prevalent in the southern USA? It is still prevalent with older people?

when i think "supper," i think of some meager soup and rolls or something, i dunno. it feels like such a depression term

It might be too soon to say this, but I think that we may just see the lights come on

My grandma uses it.

Technically, "dinner" just means the largest meal of the day, while "supper" is the evening meal. But at this point the terms are largely interchangeable.

Supper is a really cool word. It is a shame it is dying out. Our vocabulary is shrinking. It is not so much that grandma uses "supper" as it is that the rest of us do not use words.

Instead of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My dad calls it breakfast, dinner, and supper. He insists lunch isn't real, and it's just what the break is called when you eat dinner. Idk, he's a strange man. But yeah, I use dinner/supper interchangeably for the evening meal.

Morning num-nums

My grandparents said it, as well as my uncle, though weirdly their other son (my dad) doesn't so I never did.
