D4 is going to have a loooooot of work to do. D2 is still great, and PoE is even better imo.

Not to mention acti-blizzard being shitheels, they're going to have to catch lightning in a bottle to get me to bite on D4.

I've never played Diablo 2, but played 3. I saw someone say that Diablo 3 sucked because it was too easy to get gear.

If that's true then I definitely want nothing to do with Diablo 2. I want less grind, not more lol.

Diablo 2 isn't too bad about grind in multiplayer but it has you going through the game (or just a few key bosses if you get late game townportals from a friend) twice. So it's Normal, Nightmare and Hell.
Hell definitely requires grinding if single player. Even in multiplayer you might wanna grind for some resist gear (as your resists are -100 by default on Hell)

It's worth at least 1 playthrough to Nightmare last boss which could get you about 30-40 hours depending on your class and build

Kind of how I feel about Age of Empires. I think they're putting out AoE4 too soon after their Aoe2 remaster that the community loves and gets new content.

Because diablo 2 is the same game you played 15 years ago just with new graphics and audio design. While diablo 4 is everything in the game is new, the characters and story and world setting and items you find and skills you will upgrade and the list can keep going on

That's what I'm saying. Diablo 3 was mainly running greater rifts over and over. And once I reached the point of needing primal gear, progress was incredibly slow. That grind was very repetitive. So people calling it "easy" aren't selling me on more.

I liked swapping over to Season for the first time.

Do they introduce new set pieces as rewards, or just highlight different ones with every Season?

My Crusader was a beast.

Im excited for both to be honest. They know they need to nail it with D4.

POE is fun but its by far not an easy game to get into. You can fuck your build over to easy and the game has a considerable amount of bloat. And its not intuitive on how skills link together. It can be a whole job to play well

Altered how some skills worked and synthesized together, opened up different ways to play.

The mechanics and inventory/skills mgmt themselves were fine, it's the repetitive nature and horriblly uninteresting story that made grinding feel like homework. I have at least 50hrs in D3 but that total is built upon burst periods of playing and then quitting out of boredom whereas Diablo II just flatout made all your actions mean something.

tencent owns less than 5% of activision blizzard. D2 is already confirmed offline. D4 will probably be online only just like D3 and PoE, since it's the only effective way to kill item duping and hacked items.
